Activists overlay election signs in solidarity with undocumented migrants Apr 25th 2019, 11:33, by info@bxlconnect.com (TBT News) The collective "Not In My Name" put up 500 posters on the signs that are put in place for election posters in the night from Wednesday to Thursday in Brussels. The aim is to request the regularisation of undocumented migrants, according to their press release. The posters call on citizens to participate in a demonstration in the capital to demand rights for them on Sunday.
"150,000 undocumented people do not have any rights in Belgium and are permanently exposed to uncertainty and economic exploitation," said the organisation. They are not eligible for health care, accommodation and work because of their administrative status.
"None of the political parties stand up for these people. We want to denounce that in this pre-electoral period," they said. The event starts on Sunday at 14:00 at the North Station in Brussels.
