About 400 persons turn up for climate march in Namur
About 400 persons turned up in Namur on Thursday morning for the 16th national march for the climate organised by Youth for Climate in Belgium.
The organisers had expected to mobilise 5,000 persons.

The marchers, including Youth for Climate's Adélaïde Charlier, who is from Namur, and Anuna de Wever, from Antwerp, gathered outside the train station, then trekked through the streets of the Walloon capital, headed for the Place Saint-Aubin. After a few speeches and songs, they were scheduled to disperse between 13:00 and 14:00 hours.

Many of the young demonstrators bore placards from the series "The World is Drowning" by South African artist Gideon Mendel. This was the result of a collaboration between Youth for Climate and the organisers of two major cultural events in Namur, L'Intime Festival and the Festival des Solidarités.
